National Lockdown Clubhouse & Rugby Update…
Happy New Year one and all!
I hope you had a great Christmas, whatever strange shape it was in.
Firstly a massive thank you to everyone who has supported the club in what continues to be the most challenging of times. So if you brought a can of pop, a tin of beer, a bacon roll, a cup of tea or a bottle of gin or rum on behalf of the bar, thank you!
Many of you may be aware that just prior to Christmas the decision was taken to cancel all rugby activities at Oval Park. This was a particularly bitter pill to swallow as a lot of people had put a huge amount of effort in to getting things up and running for both the senior and the mini/junior sections. That decision was taken looking at all the evidence that was being put forward with regard to the changing nature of the current pandemic.
The situation has now obviously been taken out of our hands as we are now into our third national lockdown. We will be monitoring the situation with regard to mini/junior rugby and will be reviewing all the advice and legislation given by the Government, as it stands the earliest this review will take place is after the 15th of February.
This will be an ongoing process of monitoring the situation over the following months and we will take the necessary decisions as the advice and guidance changes.
Take care and please be assured the club will do all it can to get us back up and running and back to playing the sport we love, whilst we do our best keep you safe.
