The Club has been able to finally restart our partnership with local schools, introducing many pupils to their first taste of rugby and in some cases introducing existing players to Oadby Wyggs
The most recent sessions are being run by Harry Jinks, at Wigston Academy, Gartree and South Wigston. Some of you may know Harry through his work with Didi Rugby and of course as an Oadby Wyggs player. . He is a great ambassador for both Oadby Wyggs and for rugby in general .As such we would like to thank Harry and Paul Inchley for making these sessions happen.
Dave Phillips, Joint Head of PE at Wigston Academy writes, “The Year 8 boys at Wigston Academy have been lucky enough to have Coach Harry from Oadby Wyggs Rugby Club visiting over the past few weeks. The lads have really enjoyed the sessions which have involved lots of ball handling, contact and opportunities for creative play. At the start of my lesson this week, some students asked if they had Harry again, they were disappointed to find their rugby sessions were over! We are hoping that some of the boys now get involved with some rugby in their own time. A massive thanks from Wigston Academy to Harry for making the sessions fun and to Paul [Inchley] for organising!”
If anyone out there feels they could give some time to help with this initiative, please drop Paul a note at firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to someone behind the bar at any weekend!
